Hey folks,

I've got a PIII-450 that I am going to put in my cabinet to use as an emulation machine along with a PC-gaming machine. For this reason, I'm trying to find the best balance of sound and video cards where I can get the most out of MAME when I run it in either pure DOS or a DOS box, but also get high end 3d graphics and sound when I am running newer games in Win98.

For this reason, so far, I have a SBAWE64 and a Creative TNT2 card lined up for this machine. My question is this - Can I do better as a combo machine? And second, will MAME function better with the AWE64 and TNT2 in a Win98 DOS box as opposed to a pure DOS session due to the newer drivers for those cards? If the slowdown is minimal, I may as well run it all in windows but if there's still benefits to pure DOS, I want to do it that way.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

Thanks!

Brad
